Thomas Anthopoulos is a Professor of Experimental Physics in the Department of Physics and The Centre for Plastic Electronics, Imperial College London. He received his B.Eng., and Ph.D., from Staffordshire University in UK. He then moved to University of St. Andrews where he worked on organic light-emitting diodes. In 2003 he joined Philips Research Laboratories in The Netherlands to work on organic semiconductors for use in opto/electronic devices and integrated circuits. In 2005 he was awarded an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship and in 2007 a RCUK Fellowship both hosted in the Department of Physics, Imperial College London. His current research interest is focused on the physics of carbon-based, metal oxides and hybrid semiconductors and devices
George Kiriakidis obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Salford, UK in 1979. His Ph.D. thesis was on the study of thin films utilizing Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS). Since 1981 he is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at the University of Crete. He initialy served as a research fellow and later as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics / Applied Physics. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2009. He is also a senior researcher with IESL / FORTH since 1985, and he is the founder and head of the Photonic and Electronic Materials lab, recently called Transparent Conductive Materials (TCM) and devices lab.

Professor George Malliaras is the Head of the Department of Bioelectronics (BEL) at the Centre Microélectronique de Provence of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne. He received a BS in Physics from the Aristotle University (Greece) in 1991, and a PhD in Mathematics and Physical Sciences, cum laude, from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) in 1995. After a two year postdoc at the IBM Almaden Research Center (California), he joined the faculty in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University (New York). From 2006 to 2009 he served as the Lester B. Knight Director of the Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility. He joined the Centre Microélectronique de Provence in the Fall of 2009. His research on organic electronics and bioelectronics has been recognized with awards from the New York Academy of Sciences, the US National Science Foundation, and DuPont. He is a co-author of 180+ publications in peer-reviewed journals that have received over 6,000 citations (h-index = 46). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Dr. John A. Kaliakatsos is Prof. of Digital Electronics in the Dept. of Electronics, T.E.I. of Crete, in Chania. He has a BSc in Physics, MSc in Electronic Automation and a PhD in Solid State Electronics from University of Athens. He teaches Digital Electronics in T.E.I. He is Director of Life Long Learning Institute of T.E.I. He was Visiting Associate Professor in the Technical University of Crete (1994-2002), Academic Visitor in Physics Dept. of Imperial College (2008) And Vice President of T.E.I. of Crete responsible for the research (2002-2008). His main research interests are in the field of semiconductor materials, sensors, solid state devices. He has published more then 40 papers in Journals and Conference Proceedings.
Dr Kostantinos Petridis received his Bachelor in 1996 from the Department of Physics of the University of Crete, Greece. He received his Master in Optoelectronics and Laser Devices from the University of St-Andrews in 1996. In 1998 he joined the Nonlinear Optics Group of the University of St-Andrews in Scotland, UK as a research student. In 2001 he awarded his PhD. The title of his thesis is "External Cavity Diode Lasers as a Pump Source for Continuous Wave Optical Parametric Oscillators". In 2003 he joined, as post-doctoral researcher, the Non-Linear Optics Group of Professor Ebrahimzadeh in The Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona, Spain. From 2004 he works as a lecturer in the Department of Electronics of Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece. He joined the Optoelectronics, Laser and Plasma technology group (http://optoelectronics.chania.teicrete.gr/) of Professor Tatarakis. He is a member of the research staff of the Centre for Plasma Physics and Lasers of TEI of Crete (http://www.cppl.teicrete.gr). He is the academic coordinator of the Erasmus Intensive Programme “Organic Electronics and Applications” that is going to be held in DoE for the next three years (2010 – 2012) (http://orea2010.chania.teicrete.gr) He is the academic coordinator toy Erasmus Intensive Program "An Introduction to Spintronics & Applications" that is going to be hosted in the Department of Electronics of TEI of Crete from 2012 - 2015. Dr Konstantinos Petridis is a member of the nanometerials and organic electronics group of TEI of Crete.
